The Road South

The road stretched beneath the afternoon sun, cutting a narrow path through the land ahead. What waited beyond the horizon was not simply a destination, but a question that had followed him for years.

He carried few things with him. A notebook. A camera. A folder of names written in three different hands. And a feeling he could not quite describe.

For the first time in a long while, the silence felt useful.
